Erika and Dan - Tower Grove Park - May 5th, 2012

Erika and Dan were married at the Ruins in Tower Grove Park, and their reception was held at the Piper Palm House.  Despite the unseasonably warm day, the bride, groom and the wedding party were all troopers and we had fun being silly in between capturing great images.

Joe and Nan - Piper Palm House - April 21st, 2012

A few weekends ago I had the honor of photographing my good friend, Joe Seebeck's wedding.  The ceremony and location took place at the gorgeous Piper Palm House. Joe and Nan make a great couple, and Nan is beautiful inside and out.  Thank you guys for allowing me to capture your special day.  Congratulations!

Our Spring Bloom sessions were a great success!

Thanks to everyone who signed up for the Spring Bloom portrait sessions in Forest Park the past two weekends.  Despite some cold temperatures on the 21st and having to reschedule the afternoon sessions on the 28th due to hail storms, we got some really awesome images!    Here is a (very small!) sampling of a few of my favorites. 

 
I really enjoyed doing these sessions and I especially enjoyed getting to meet all of you!  I'm sure it's probably nice to finally be able to put a face to my name as well!

Jessica and Aaron - Missouri Athletic Club - April 7th, 2012

Well, hey! I'm 2 for 2 in posting weddings online. Hopefully I can keep up the pace!  Jessica and Aaron were such a fun couple and had me laughing while shooting their creative formals.  The whole wedding party was great!  We found this really cool area downtown - actually, I have driven by it many times and never really "looked" at it but it turned out to be one the coolest spots for pictures that day!  Hope you enjoy!

Jenny and Chris, Palladium - March 31st, 2012

First wedding of the year and I'm off to a great start posting them on my blog...let's see if I can keep up with it this year! Ha!  Jenny and Chris were great fun to work with and we got some really cool shots despite Chris' aversion to being in front of the camera!  Thank you Chris for putting up with it and allowing me to capture these awesome images.  Jenny is a natural in front of camera and was up for anything - needless to say all the images turned out fantastic!  Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed creating them!

Timeless Giclee Portraits

Time gets away from us all, and it’s no different for me.  As a photographer and father, I would love to capture my girls every day, but as a business owner that’s just not possible.   Every so often I am reminded of how quickly they grow and I always feel a pang of urgency to get them in front of the camera.  I want to capture a portrait of them as they change in each step of the way to adulthood.  

I recently took some time with them and crafted some very elegant vintage images using a technique I have been working on for quite some time.  These portraits stay beautiful and timeless year after year. One of the things I love about them is their pure simplicity.  The focus is genuine and the subtle hint of color on porcelain skin gives the subjects an authentic, almost lifelike feel.   Heather says they are “Angelic”!

 

The process of creating Giclee (pronounced Gee’clay or Zhe-clay) prints is time consuming but well worth it.  I painstakingly artwork down to the finest detail using a selective pigment technique, then print them on museum quality fine art texture paper. The print is then carefully window matted and set in a classic-style frame.   The result is an elegant masterpiece designed to last for years.

As parents, we don’t want to miss a second of our children’s lives, but it is inevitable – we can’t be there for everything!  To me, having the ability to capture my girls in timeless portraits is truly a blessing. And I am honored each and every time I have the opportunity to capture my clients in the same way.

Model Search Special:
